Rocks that move by themselves?

The Racetrack Playa is an awesome dry lake feature with “sliding stones” that leave linear “racetrack” imprints. It is located above the northwestern side of Death Valley in California. The stones move around though no one is quite sure how. Maybe it's a mentalist practicing? I'm a huge skeptic but this really intrigues me. What do you think? All you have to do is upload a video that's 2 minutes or less showing why you're the biggest 'Wayniac' out there. The winner will receive an all expenses paid trip to either Los Angeles or Las Vegas to party with yours truly, Wayne Hoffman. And you know how I like to party......

Make the video creative, funny, serious, dramatic, almost illegal, a tear-jerker, or just plain stupid........just make it the winner. Just don't do anything illegal like put a sign with my website address (www.waynehoffman.com) in a high-traffic area where thousands of people will see it. Well, you can do that.........but legally. The more over-the-top and sensational the better. So grab a camera and follow these easy steps:

2. The Contest is sponsored by Wayne Hoffman and Hoffman Entertainment. The Contest begins at 12:01 AM PST on November 1, 2010, and ends at 11:59 PM PST on January 1, 2011 (the "Contest Period"). No purchase or payment is necessary to enter or win; participation in the Contest is free. All federal, state, local and municipal laws and regulations apply. Void where prohibited.

3. ELIGIBILITY
The Contest is open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia eighteen (18) years of age or older who maintain a valid user account with YouTube Inc. ("YouTube") during the Contest Period. Employees of, agents of, and individuals affiliated with the Administrators, and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies and immediate family members and/or those living in the same household with any of the foregoing are not eligible to enter the Contest.

By submitting an entry email and uploading an entry, each Entrant gives permission to the Administrators to use all information provided by the Entrant on the Entry Form, including but not limited to his or her YouTube username, real name, location, phone number, mailing address, likeness, and/or statements regarding the Entrant's participation in this Contest for any purpose reasonably related to the Contest.

By participating in the Contest, Entrants accept and agree to be bound by these Official Rules, including but not limited to the eligibility and entrance requirements set forth above. Failure to comply with any aspect of these Official Rules will result in disqualification from the Contest. Entries that do not comply with the requirements set forth in these Official Rules will not be accepted and/or will result in disqualification, in the Administrators' sole discretion. 7. HOW PRIZES ARE AWARDED
The Administrators will designate a panel of judges to select, at their sole discretion, five (5) winning Entries (the "Winning Entries") based on the following criteria: creativity and originality, content, persuasiveness, popularity and user ratings. The judging panel's and Administrators' selection of Winning Entries is final, binding and non-appealable.

Entrants who submit a Winning Entry ("Winning Entrants") agree to accept their prizes as set forth in Section 9. If they do not accept their prizes, winning Entrants shall be disqualified at the sole discretion of the Administrators.

8. PRIZES:
Grand Prize: One grand prize of an all expenses paid trip will be awarded to the best of the winning Entries, as selected by the judging panel.

The Administrators will determine airline, flight itinerary and accommodations in their sole discretion. Travel must occur between January 2, 2011 and January 2, 2012. No refund or compensation will be made in the event of the cancellation or delay of any flight. Travel is subject to the terms and conditions set forth in these Official Rules, and those set forth by the Administrators' airline carrier of choice as detailed in the passenger ticket contract. All expenses and incidental travel costs not expressly stated in the travel and accommodation description above, including but not limited to, incidentals, passenger tariffs or duties, surcharges, airport fees, service charges or facility charges, personal charges, security fees, taxes or other expenses are the responsibility solely of winner. Travel restrictions, conditions and limitations may apply. If in the sole judgment of the Administrators air travel is not required due to winner's proximity to Los Angeles or Las Vegas, ground transportation will be substituted for roundtrip air travel.

The Administrators shall have no tax liability or obligation with respect to any prizes awarded. Nothing in these Official Rules shall constitute tax advice.

Winning Entrants may not exchange prizes for any other consideration or transfer, assign, or substitute a prize. No cash equivalent will be made available on prizes.

9. WINNER NOTIFICATION
Winning Entrants will be notified via e-mail (the "Notification") sent to the e-mail address associated with the Entrant's YouTube user account. Entrants will also be notified via public posting on the contest website.

In the event that any Notification is returned as undeliverable or the Winning Entrant is determined by the Administrators not to be eligible for the Contest, the judging panel may select an alternate winning Entry and notify the Winning Entrant. The Administrators reserve the right to modify these notification procedures as may be necessary or advisable in its sole discretion.

Winning Entrants will be notified by January 2, 2011. A list of the Winning Entries will be available beginning on December 2, 2010.

10. OBLIGATIONS OF CONTEST WINNERS
In order to claim a prize, Winning Entrants will be required to execute the following documents: (a) an affidavit of eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules; (b) a release of liability; and (c) a publicity release/agreement (collectively, the "Required Documents").

The publicity release/agreement shall: (i) permit the Administrators to use and publicize the Entrant's winning Entry, name, Likeness, hometown, voice, and biographical information including, but not limited to, on YouTube and all other media (except where prohibited by law) and (ii) specify that such permitted uses by the Administrators may be for any purpose reasonably related to the Contest.

If the Required Documents are not executed and returned within three (3) days of the date of the Notification, or if the Required Documents mailed to the winning Entrant are returned as undeliverable, the winning Entrant may be disqualified, and another winning Entry may be selected by the Administrators, in their sole discretion.

11. WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY

Can you spot the Liar?

Hey guys!

A lot of you ask me how you can spot a liar. Most of the inquisitors are women (go figure) So here you go. Below I've posted some tips on how to spot a dishonest bastard. These aren't 100% definitive, so don't divorce your lying cheat of a spouse over my post. But I wouldn't post something that wasn't true. By the way, I'm an alien.

You can't really use these on people you don't know. The reason being, you have to compare their normal body language to the body language when you think they're lying. You need to have a "control". (the science geeks get it)

You can use these for business or love...but don't say I didn't warn you.
Good luck grasshopper.

Words vs. Actions
• If you sense the timing of a persons reaction is off, you're probably right. This usually indicates they're fibbing...or using narcotics. Things like "I love this tie with a picture of a fish on it" (3 second pause) ::smile::
I hope you saved the receipt.

• Shaking your head no while saying "yes" is a non-verbal cue someone is lying, and vice versa.

• If their smile doesn't reach their eyes it might be a fake smile. You should see the "crows feet" at the corner of their eyes. Smiling with just the mouth in ingenuine.

The Body Motions
• A liar will have less movement. Almost as if they're fearful. They'll close up.

• They'll avoid making eye contact.

• A liar will often touch their face i.e eyes, ears, or mouth. It stems from the "See no evil, Hear no evil" idea. As kids we cover our ears if we hear something we don't like, we cover our eyes for something we don't like to see, or cover our mouths if we say something "naughty". So these touches are subtle toned-down versions of our childhood behavior. (I'm feeling intelligent as I post this) On the flip side, if a person gestures with an open hand, they're showing vulnerability and are probably being honest.

Watch How They Say What They Say•
• If they reapeat your question before answering they're a gutter-rat.

• A statement with a contraction or a shortened version of a statement is probably true: “ I didn't have sex with that woman” as opposed to “I did not have sexual relations with that woman”

• Liars sometimes avoid saying things that imply an answer instead of just answering the question.

• Watch out for the person who answers a simple question with an hour-long narrative. If they talk to much they're just probably trying to avoid the guilt they'll feel during that moment of uncomfortable silence

Reactions
• It's a bad sign if they get defensive. if they go after you they might be telling the truth. However, some people get offensive if they're lying...especially roided-out football players.

• If your subject can't look you in the eye tell them that they should go to hell.

• A liar sometimes distances themselves from their interrogator. So they might walk to the other side of the table or open a refrigerator door.

• Stalling is another sign. If you ask them a question and they take a bite out of Twix....there using it for time to think up a lie.

The Whole Body
Look out for jerky motions. If they're acting like Michael J. Fox and shifting around....they're probably uncomfortable. I wonder why. Hmmmmm.

Watch their hands. Liars tend to put their hands in their pockets subconciously. It's their way of hiding.

Become A Sneaky Prick

• Get sneaky and change subject quickly, a liar will be happy and relieved while a truthful person will be pissed off and will want to revert back to defend themselves.

There are other interesting methods including watching their eyes to figure out if they're recalling a thought or constructing one...but I'm tired of typing. So I might just release that in a future post. So subscribe to my blog and check back for more fun.

Hey guys!

I have some exciting news from the headquarters of Hoffman Entertainment...

I am officially going to Japan for the first time this Wednesday!

I'm very excited about my journey. I'll be landing in Sapporo, Japan and slowly taking over the country from there. I'm a little nervous because of the large cultural differences and the language barrier.....but I have faith. I don't think I'll have to worry about them understanding me. I probably won't have to say a wrod when I start levitating things and stuff starts disappearing. :)

After my journey to Japan I'll be heading to Anchorage, Alaska and then Cancun, Mexico. I think it's time to start breaking some of the international barriers!

Hey guys,

I just wanted to let you know that I have officially registered to be one of the bidders at Julien's "Music Icons" auction at the Hard Rock in New York City on November 21st, 2009. I will be bidding on Michael Jackson's sequined that he wore when he debuted the moonwalk. I'm currently organizing venture capitalists to back me in case the glove goes into "astronomical" figures. If you or someone you know wants to invest in the venture, you/they can email me at wayne@hoffmanmagic.com. I'm prepared to drop unimaginable sums of money to obtain it. If I end up the owner of the glove I have some eccentric plans for it. Don't expect it to sit on a shelf collecting dust. I want to make sure MJ's legacy is never forgotten.

Another glove just sold in Australia for $48,000. We'll see how much this one goes for. Wish me luck.

Hey guys!

I just saw a re-airing of my appearance on The Ellen Degeneres Show and now I just found out I'll be on TV again tonight (this morning)! You can check me out as I co-host "The A List" on Discovery's Animal Planet. I'm helping do a countdown of the top 10 cheats of the animal kingdom. Watch and laugh with me as we check out the "trickiest" animals alive! The show is definately for those of us who are insomniacs as it airs at 4:00am/4:30am. If you're still amped up from that cup of coffee......make sure you check it out!

Taking over Vegas with Mickey Avalon and the Playboy Mansion with Snoop Dogg and Tom Green

Hey guys,

It's been a wild month so I thought I'd update you on some craziness....

On June 6th I went back to the Playboy Mansion for the 4th (5th?) time and got a chance to rove around and do some magic for everybody.....and then of course I partied it up. I got a chance to see my friend Kayla Collins and hang with Playmate of The Year Ida Ljungqvist. I ran into Tom Green again and had a flashback of when I read his mind on Hollywood Blvd. Then Snoop Dogg hit the stage and performed. Of course I ended up in the grotto.

Two days later I performed for a corporate event at the Rio in Las Vegas and afterword took the casino for a nice chunk of change at the blackjack table. Afterwards, I went to Prive with some friends and partied it up with none other than Mickey Avalon.

Livin' the life.......and lovin' it.

It inspired me to create a new contest and bring someone with me to the mansion next year as a prize....I'll keep you posted on the details as I create them.

Hey Wayniacs,

It's about time for another exciting post on my adventures....

First up...I did my first performance in England and had a blast. I spent over a week in England touring from the southwest region up through London. I even got to visit Stonehenge. I actually read a girl's mind at Stonehenge and freaked her out. I also got a chance to do a radio interview and make a lot of good contacts in the "entertainment biz" (i.e. agents, TV hosts, etc.)
But, one of the highlights was most certainly hanging out with mystifier Uri Geller. I spent some time in his posh London penthouse, then went to dinner with him and his wife and manager. It was a very exciting evening.

After I got back from England, I performed some shows and flew back home to LA where I met up with Uri's daughter (whom Uri introduced me to) and we went out partying. While we were out we ran into Usher at Hyde in Hollywood and partied the night away. Fun times!
But the grand finale of this post is my most recent adventure in filming my first appearance at the Ellen Degeneres Show. I had so much fun and the experience was incredible. I'd like to thank Ellen and her team for being so wonderful. The episode will air on Monday April 13th. Check your local listing for channels and times. You can also check out www.ellentv.com for details. Make sure you search their site for footage of an incredible stunt that won't be shown on the show.

I need an intern for my entertainment company!

I just wanted to give you a heads up and let you know that we've officially begun our search for an intern. Hoffman Entertainment is looking for a self-motivated person to work at our office in Reading, Pa.
This is an unpaid internship with tons of perks, such as, traveling across the US and Canada for entertainment conferences, experience in the entertainment industry, building a resume, creating industry contacts, and the potential to acquire a paid position with us.
The hours are extremely flexible. The work includes research, management of emails and online community, administrative work, helping plan marketing strategies, setting up TV and radio appearances, event planning, etc.

Party at Green Door

Hey guys,

Yesterday and last night was awesome. I had my photoshoot at the mansion with Michael Vincent and it was awesome! The Affliction models were there in full force. The best part of the day is when we all jumped on the party bus and went from the OC to Hollywood, and to Green Door. (which happens to be a block from my house) Poppin' bottles with models.....hahahaha. It was Hollywood all the way. I met some really cool people and had an awesome time. I'm now at the airport about to jump on a jet to Hawaii for a little business/pleasure trip. I have another photoshoot with MV scheduled and I still need some more ideas for the shoot. Hit me up and let me know what you think I should do!

Hey guys, The Orange County Mansion (aka the Casablanca Mansion) has officialy been rented out at $30,000 a day for tomorrow's photoshoot with Michael Vincent and I need to get some more ideas for the shoot. Welcome and updates

Hey guys!

This is my first blog and I'm excited to have it up and running. I figured it was about time to have an official WH blog because of all the requests from you guys! I just settled into my new house in Hollywood and I love it! A lot of exciting things are going on right now too: I was just nominated for three entertainment awards, Best Male Performer, Best Live Novelty Artist, and Entertainer of The Year! Thank you to everyone who nominated me and to everyone who is going to vote for me. (don't forget to enter your info) I'll keep you updated and let you know if I win.

On another note, I'm currently working on my first non-magic related TV show. It's going to be awesome. I'll give you more information as soon as I can. I'm also looking for a publicist, so if anyone knows a good publicist...send me their info and I'll check them out. I have a lot of upcoming plans and I'm really excited.
